Jethro Tull discography

This discography of albums and DVDs of the group Jethro Tull contains only legal publications, so no bootlegs. Except for the entries in the "Submissions without exclusive material " section can be found listed on each release exclusive content, so at least one otherwise unreleased tracks. CDs, the opposite would be a DVD of the same name do not contain any additional material and so unnecessary for a complete inventory of authorized music published are listed, but marked accordingly. Publications that have contained exclusive material, but that is now contained entirely in the form of bonus tracks on the revised albums are not, or at most in the section " Publications without exclusive material " listed.

  • This Was (1968 ), 10th in the UK, number 62 in the U.S.. Appeared in 2008 on the fortieth anniversary with a double - CD version with a revised original mono version, a new stereo mix and partly newly reclaimed bonus material.

  • Aqualung (1971 ), No. 4 in the UK, # 7 in the USA 1996, was updated and equipped with five extra tracks and an excerpt from an Ian Anderson interview on the 25th anniversary of the album Aqualung.
  • Thick as a Brick ( 1972), No. 5 in the UK, # 1 in the United States. The revised publication in 1997 did a format smaller but complete reprint of the fictional regional newspaper " St Cleve Chronicle ", in which the LP was folded by the first time.

  • Live at Madison Square Garden 1978 ( published 2009). More material than on the same live CD. The filmed portion was the first transatlantic transmission of a rock concert in history in October 1978. The shares are not filmed underlaid with still images.

Preliminary are to be identified as particularly relevant:

  • Living in the Past, 1972. Doppel-LP/CD. So far, not available as a digitally reworked version. In the meantime, there was a single CD version on which some titles are missing. Compilation with exclusive studio recordings and concert excerpt of 1970. The material was now distributed as a bonus track on the revised albums. Although a long time, seven title of this compilation exclusive, five studio tracks, two live tracks were, however, then in 2010 on the bonus disc of the deluxe edition of " Stand Up" together with the remaining shares of the concert from the 25th Anniversary Box Set published, while the remaining studio tracks on the 2011 published 40th Anniversary Collectors Edition of Aqualung on the second CD in one of Steven Wilson revised stereo mix can be found.

  • . The Derek Lawrence Sampler 1991 CD single of the label Line Records, entitled Blues for the 18th, one of the first studio recordings from 1968; Derek Lawrence was the producer. In 1998, the title was again published in Line Music, on the compilation Some Sides of Line - 20th Anniversary.
  • Seventeen, 1969. B- side of the 7- inch vinyl single Sweet Dream. Full length published only in this form; a ( dramatic, but given the repetitive song structure is not implausible ) abbreviated version can be found as a bonus track on the revised version of Stand Up. Meanwhile, the complete version is also included on the deluxe edition of " Stand Up".
  • At Compilations M.U. - The Best of Jethro Tull (1976, number 25 in the UK and in 2003 re-released under the title The Essential Jethro Tull ) and Original Masters (1985, # 19 in the UK ), there is a different from the album version version of Aqualung: The voice in the middle part is not alienated.

  • 20 Years of Jethro Tull, 1988. 3- CD and 5- LP box set. Contains live recordings from the period of 1977-1987, exclusive BBC footage, exclusive studio material and a remix of Moths. Part of the exclusive material for publication has now been distributed as an extra track on the revised albums. Since then, twenty titles on the box exclusive, five of which are studio tracks. There is also a stripped down single- CD release.
  • 20 Years of Jethro Tull (video ), 1988. Contains exclusive content such as interviews and promo clips. So far published only as a VHS video.
  • Rocks on the Road, a double - CD single of 1991 Exclusive Tracks: . Demo version of Jack -A -Lynn (Ian Anderson solo) and six live tracks.
  • 25th Anniversary Box Set, 4 - CD box set from 1993. 1 CD contains remixes, CD 2 the concert in New York's Carnegie Hall in 1970 with the exception of investments that have already been published on Living in the Past, CD three new recordings of older pieces and CD 4 live recordings from the period of 1969-1992.   • The John Evan Band: Live '66 ( released in 1990 ). Mono recording of a concert of the band to Ian Anderson and John Evan, from which Jethro Tull would develop. Very limited, but unauthorized publication, which could be acquired only through the magazine Tull A New Day.
  • Maddy Prior:. Woman in the Wings, 1978 On this album, which was co-produced by Ian Anderson, interacts with the exception of John Evan the whole of his term Line Up by Jethro Tull with, so Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Barrie Barlow, David Palmer and John Glascock - but act on any track all together simultaneously: Anderson's flute is heard only in the piece Gutter Geese, Barres electric guitar only in the play Coldflame.
