Jette is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels- Capital Region. It has 48 805 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) at 5 km ².

Jette is in the northwest of the capital. Neighboring municipalities of Brussels-Capital, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean/Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Ganshoren and Koekelberg in Brussels and Aces and Wemmel in Flanders.

Although the municipal area is built predominantly urban, there are some forests and large parks ( Poelbos, Laarbeekbos, Dielegem, King Baudouin Park ). At the King Baudouin Park is the large Sacred Heart Monastery. In Jette also is the University Hospital of the Free University of Brussels, one of the largest hospitals in the city as a whole.

Jette has a suburban station National Rail and ( in the extreme south ) a Metro Station, on line 1A ( Belgica ). Furthermore, the tram lines 19, 51, 81 and 93 by Jette.
