Jettying

In late medieval timber-framed one speaks of Rähmbauweise (also floor construction ) when the stands forming the side walls and bear the brunt of the whole structure, only one storey high. It developed in the course of the 15th century from the post and beam construction. Each floor was built separately and joined the top in a frame ( Rähm ). Through floor construction, the upper floors could be extended beyond the footprint of the house also. You won this means more space, because the upper stories loomed over the house foundation out.
