Jeverland

Jeverland called the northern part of present-day district of Friesland with the city of Jever as the seat of county government.

The Jeverland formed in the 15th century from the dominion of Jever, which had emerged from the Banter quarter, from parts of Östringen and the Wanger country. The city was founded in 1853 Wilhelmshaven not heard today as county-level city to Jeverland, as is the situated on the today's city of Wilhelmshaven formerly independent parishes Heppens and Neuende. Main source of income in Jeverland was primarily agriculture in earlier times.

Trade was settled mainly through the small Sielhafenorte Hooksiel, Rüstringersiel and Mariensiel. In Jeverland the temporarily politically completely independent small state Kniphausen was with the two Sielhafenorten Inhausersiel and Kniphausersiel whose former area also lies partly in Wilhelmshaven city today.
