Jeż Jerzy

Jeż Jerzy is a Polish comic by Rafał Skarżycki and Tomasz Lew Leśniak.

The title character is a hedgehog ( pl.: Jeż ) named Jerzy (pronounced Jeschi, pl for George, Jörg or Juergen. ). His worn backwards baseball cap, a skateboard and the characteristic slang identify him as a skater or hip-hop, although this is emphasized in later booklets less.

Content

In the satirical episodes all social groups of neo- Nazis environmentalists to politicians (eg Grzegorz Kołodko or the Polish right-wing populist Andrzej Lepper ) are being targeted.

The neo- Nazis are represented by Zenek and Stefan. They are members of the so-called All-Polish Youth and the sworn enemies of Jerzy. Jerzy them comes thanks to his ingenuity after some initial difficulties it again and again.

Publication

The first episode of Jeż Jerzy appeared in 1996 in the magazine Ślizg, the first comic album was released in 2002. Previously released eight albums.

Awards

One of the episodes of Jez Jerzy has won the 1999 Grand Prize at the comic festival in Łódź.
