Jhonas Enroth

Jhonas Enroth ( born June 25, 1988 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2008 with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Jhonas Enroth started his career in 2003 with the U18 team Huddinge IK. Already in the 2004/05 season rose in the U20 age group, and could also deny two games for the first team from Huddinge in Allsvenskan South, there but he could not prevail.

In summer 2005, Enroth moved to Södertälje SK, where he became the sole choice goalkeeper for the U20 Junior and very good performance as a Gegentordurchschnitt of 2.17, and the North American teams drew attention to himself. As best eingeschätzter European Goalkeeper in the rankings for the NHL Entry Draft 2006, he was eventually selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round at position 46.

The 2006/07 season spent Enroth with the professionals of Södertälje in the subprime HockeyAllsvenskan. Together with Magnus Lindquist, he shared the stakes in goal and both helped the team to promotion to the Elitserien, as it is by far the fewest goals conceded just 74 goals conceded in 45 games this season in the league. In the 2007 /08 season Enroth, together with Björn Bjurling the goalkeeper in team Södertälje SK and was able to convince again very good performance.

On 31 May 2008, he signed a three - year contract with the Buffalo Sabres. There he was in the 2008 / 09, used with the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League, the farm team of the Sabres and made his debut in a game in the NHL. In the first draft of the Continental Junior Hockey League in the summer of 2009, he was selected in the third round at # 66 out of Atlant Mytischtschi, which thus secured his transfer rights upon a change in the KHL.

In the 2010/11 season Enroth came to a total of 15 appearances for the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL due to injury related absences of Ryan Miller.

At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the silver medal with the Swedish national team.
