Jibacoa

Jibacoa is a fishing village in the province of Mayabeque Cuba. It is located in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Norte, at the mouth of the Rio Jibacoa, 60 km east of Havana. The settlement was founded in 1756.

In the 1990s, the place was opened up to the all-inclusive tourism and east of the village extensive facilities were built. This was one of the first foreign investment in the Cuban economy.
