Jiedushi

The title Jiedushi (Chinese节度使/节度使, Pinyin Jiédùshǐ ) that was specified during the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms regional military governors in China. Originally used to repel foreign policy threats that Jiedushi gained more and more power and influence, from the right to collect taxes on hereditary title to entertainment own armies.

As a famous example is An Lushan, which was equipped as Jiedushi of three areas with a 200,000 -strong army and 755 calling for rebellion. But even after the suppression of the revolution the Jiedushi retained their power and operate the downfall of the Tang Dynasty, only more violent, making it powerful Jiedushi to 900 AD succeeded AD, deactivate the central government in China. This led to the political instability of the period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, the rival of power struggles kingdoms, dynasties and regional Jiedushi was coined.
