Jietai Temple

The Jietai Temple (Chinese戒台寺, Pinyin Jietai si) is a Buddhist temple at the foot of Ma'an Mountain (马鞍山) in Beijing's Mentougou District. He goes back to the time of the Sui dynasty, and thus has a history of over 1,400 years.

Its name comes from its unusually large ordination altar ( Jietai ) ago.

The temple stands since 1994 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 4-94 ).
