Jieznas

Jieznas is a town of 1,300 inhabitants in the Rajongemeinde Prienai, 15 km east of Prienai, Lithuania. The town is the center of Amtsbezirks Jieznas (est. 1995), the three sub-districts ( seniūnaitija ) has: Centro, Mokyklos, Vilniaus. South of the town lies the Jieznas Lake, near the town flows the Jieznelė. There are the Catholic Church Jieznas (built in 1670 ), the estate Jieznas, a high school founded in 1793 with 448 students, a post office and a military cemetery.
