Jim Butcher

Jim Butcher ( born October 26, 1971 in Independence ) is an American writer, known for his Dresden Files and Codex Alera - series.

Dresden Files

The " Dresden Files" ( German The dark events of the Harry Dresden) are Butchers first series above and with Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, Chicago's first ( and the only ) Magician detective. The series cleverly combines with the very down to earth Harry Dresden fantasy world with today's reality. Harry is a real magician who gets by as a private investigator in an " alternate Chicago ", where magic is real, but is perceived only by very few people. The story is told from the first-person perspective Harry Dresden.

In addition, in 2011 with Side Jobs ( ISBN 978-1-84149-920-8 ) was a volume of short stories set next to or between the stories of the series.

2007, the eponymous television series on the American broadcaster was (then) Sci Fi aired. Paul Blackthorne portrayed Harry Dresden. The series was after the first season consisting of 12 episodes set.

Codex Alera

Jim's new high- fantasy series. The German translation appears at Del Rey since mid-2009.
