Jim Byrnes (actor)

Jim Byrnes ( born September 22, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri as James Thomas Kevin Byrnes ) is an American actor and blues musician.

Life

Byrnes grew up in St. Louis, where he was playing the piano and thirteen learned the blues guitar at the age of five years. He even studied theology and worked as a professional shepherd before he tried his hand as an actor. After a serious car accident Byrnes moved to Vancouver in 1972 and held odd jobs and playing music above water. In 1981, he formed a band that a major component of the local music scene was later.

Known to millions of viewers for his role in the CBS series Wiseguy, had Byrnes guest roles in various series, such as The Police Chief, The Hitchhiker, Neon Rider, Highlander, Danger Bay, Hat Squad and The Outer Limits - The unknown dimension. He also appeared in television movies such as Omen IV: The Awakening, I want my kids back, companies firestorm, Serving in Silence: The Colonel Margarethe Cammermeyer Story and Dream Man on. His filmography also includes names such as Whale Music and Suspicious Agenda.

In addition to acting, the music was still a driving force in life Byrnes, who is currently touring with his band through North America. His CD That River, for which Byrnes got a Juno Award for Best Blues-/Gospel-Aufnahme, is a collection of songs, which he described as " a reflection of his respect for the blues, R & B, soul, jazz, all in one " referred and which itself contains a song that was written during the filming of Highlander in Paris.

Byrnes was inducted into the British Columbia Entertainment Hall of Fame recently.

From 2008 to 2011 he played a supporting role in the television series Sanctuary - Keeper of the creatures as Gregory Magnus.
