Jim Capaldi

Jim Capaldi ( born August 2, 1944 in Evesham, Worcestershire, † 28 January 2005 in London) was a British rock musician.

Life

The grandson of Italian immigrants played drums on the side of Steve Winwood in the band Traffic, which he co-founded in 1967. He was successful as a singer and songwriter in his own name and has published numerous solo albums.

In 1973 he took part in Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert along with other famous musicians such as Pete Townshend and Ronnie Wood in part.

In 1975 he married the Brazilian Aninha Campos, from the marriage came two daughters, Tabitha and Tallulah forth.

2001 Jim Capaldi recorded the album " Living on the outside" on the Cologne CAN studio with producer René Tinner. It can be heard as a guest musician among other things, Paul Weller, Ian Paice, Gary Moore and George Harrison. On November 29, 2002, he took part in the memorial concert for George Harrison, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall.

Capaldi died on January 28, 2005 in London of stomach cancer.
