Jim Cash

Jim Cash ( born January 17, 1947 in Boyne City, Charlevoix County, Michigan, † March 25, 2000 in East Lansing, Michigan) was an American screenwriter and university lecturer.

Life

Cash grew up in Grand Rapids, and received his BA in 1970 in English and his Master of Arts degree in Radio and Television in 1972 at Michigan State University. He then taught there ever since as adjunct assistant professor of film history. In 1985, he donated a Jim Cash Creative Writing Award scholarship.

During his time as a lecturer, he met Jack Epps Jr. 1975 the students know. In the MSU Union Grill, they wrote 10 film ideas on paper napkins and then tried to work out their ideas and sell. But only in 1986 they made ​​a breakthrough with prosecutors and not Top Gun kisses you. Top Gun was the seventh unproduced screenplay written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps. In January 2000 he was admitted to the hospital because of intestinal problems and died a few days later.
