Jim Clark (film editor)

Jim Clark ( born May 24, 1931 in Boston, England) is a British film editor and director.

Life and work

As a film editor Clark has been active since 1956. He worked several times with director John Schlesinger.

A highlight of his long career in 1985 is being awarded the Oscar for the cut by Roland Joffé's anti-war film The Killing Fields - Crying country. Two years later he was again nominated for an Oscar, this time for Joffé's successor mission. For this film he won the BAFTA Award. In 2005, he was honored by the American Cinema Editors with the Career Achievement Award.

In 1966 he made ​​his debut as a director and directed until 1974 a total of seven films.
