Jim Fahey

Jim Fahey ( born May 11, 1979 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American professional ice hockey defender who played at the Krefeld Penguins in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Jim Fahey played in his youth for the high school team Catholic Knights, before he went on in Boston Northeastern University in 1998. That same year, the defender of the San Jose Sharks in the NHL Entry Draft was selected in 1998 in the eighth round at position 212. Then Fahey played four years for the ice hockey team of the University and was nominated in 2001/ 02 for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the best player in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

In the summer of 2002, the right-handed shooter the organization of the San Jose Sharks joined and played two seasons in both the National Hockey League, as well as for the AHL farm team Cleveland Barons. In the season 2002/ 03 Fahey scored 20 points in 43 games and was able to make the first time attention. During the failure of the NHL season 2004/ 05 playing the defender exclusively for Cleveland, but could still not prevail in the NHL squad the Sharks and then came in 2005 /06 only 21 NHL inserts.

In the summer of 2006, his contract was extended for the Sharks though, but still before the season of Americans was transferred to the New Jersey Devils, in which NHL team he started the season, but then injured in early November. Then Fahey was put on the Waiverliste and finally to the farm team, the Lowell Devils, sent to the AHL. In summer 2007, the defender joined as a free agent in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs, the new farm team of the Chicago Blackhawks, where he came on twelve templates in 65 league games, but by the third season remained in a row without a goal.

For the season 2008/ 09 Jim Fahey joined the DEL to the Krefeld Penguins.
