Jim Gibbons (Irish politician)

James "Jim" Gibbons ( born August 3, 1924 County Kilkenny; † 20 December 1997) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician.

Biography

Gibbons was by profession a farmer and in 1957 for the first time as a candidate of the Fianna Fáil member of the lower house ( Dáil Éireann ) is selected and represented there by five subsequent re- elections until his election defeat in 1981 the constituency of Carlow - Kilkenny.

1965 appointed him Prime Minister ( Taoiseach ) Seán Lemass to Parliamentary Secretary on the Finance Minister.
