Jim Pomeroy (motocross)
Jim Pomeroy ( November 16, 1952 in Sunnyside, Washington; † August 6, 2006 in Yakima, Washington ) was the first American motocross racer who won a Grand Prix at the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM ). He succeeded in 1973 in the 250cc class at the Spanish Motocross Grand Prix.
In 1987 he suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident. On 6 August 2006, his Jeep overturned after he drove off the roadway, where Jim Pomeroy possibly sustain fatal injuries.
