Jim Taylor (writer)

Jim Taylor ( born 1963 in Seattle, Washington) is an American screenwriter, film producer and film director, who became known for his collaboration with filmmaker Alexander Payne for feature films such as Election, About Schmidt and Sideways fame.

Life

After Jim Taylor, Bellevue High School attended, he graduated in 1984 with a degree at Pomona College, instead of attending the USC School of Cinematic Arts, which previously accepted him as a student. His first job in the film industry he had when he started in 1987 for Cannon Films to work. Later, he worked for three years for the director Ivan Passer and as assistant director of the television Devon Foster. Subsequently, Taylor worked in several odd jobs, which is why he is with Alexander Payne founded a residential community for financial reasons. During this time she became friends and started alongside the screenplays to write several short films also on the script for Baby Business. After Taylor won on the game show Wheel of Fortune, the U.S. version of Wheel of Fortune, Money, he went at the age of 30 years again at the Tisch School of the Arts, a faculty of New York University, studying. During his studies, they wrote the script for Baby Business several times so that it could be produced in his third year of study. With a Master's degree in film Taylor then closed his studies in 1996.

Then turned with Tylor Payne films as Election, About Schmidt and Sideways, all highly praised by both nationally and internationally by the critics, as were also honored with several film awards. Thus, both after having already received an Oscar Election nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2000, in 2005 won an Oscar for Sideways.

Jim Taylor is married to actress Tamara Jenkins since 2002.
