Jim Vallance

James Douglas "Jim" Vallance ( born May 31, 1952 in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada ) is a Canadian rock musician and composer.

Vallance was known for his collaboration with Bryan Adams, with whom he wrote the plays Heaven and Summer of '69. For the Canadian charity song Tears Are Not Enough, he wrote the text.

Vallance has also written songs for Bonnie Raitt, Aerosmith, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Roger Daltrey, Tina Turner, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Scorpions, Glass Tiger, Anne Murray, Rick Springfield and Joe Cocker. In 2006 he retired from the music business.
