Jimeno Garcés of Pamplona

Jimeno Garcés († May 29 931) was 925-931 King of Navarre from the house Jiménez.

He was the younger son of García ( II ) Jiménez and his second wife Dadildis of Pallars. The father was probably a member of the house of the Basque Íñigo Arista and was perhaps identical with an eponymous king of the mid-9th century. After the death of his elder brother Sancho I Garcés 925 Jimeno took over the regency in place of his minor nephew García I.. One document of the Abbey of San Martín de Albelda from 11 January 931 it can be seen that Jimeno led the royal title. Already on 29 May 931 he had died. After that first his half-brother Íñigo Garcés had taken over the regency until it was displaced 933 of her sister Toda Aznárez.
