Jimmy Downey

James " Jimmy" Downey ( born October 10, 1987 in Gympie ) is an Australian football player.

Career

Downey first visited the Sports Institute of Queensland before he coached from 2005 to 2006 at the Australian Institute of Sport. In March 2007, he received from the A- League team Perth Glory a professional contract and was already in his debut season regulars. After the end of the season he extended his contract at Perth two more seasons. Due to injury problems in preparation for the 2009/10 season the most part drawn botene at right-back after two years, Downey lost his place in the team and was only sporadically used. In early 2010 he went in exchange for Daniel McBreen for the last game days to league rivals North Queensland Fury.

For the 2010/11 season, he joined the Dutch second division club Sparta Rotterdam. For this he came early in the season to a total of three duty stakes, due to prolonged injury problems to club and player agreed but already from 1 January 2011 to an early resolution of the one-year contract. Downey returned to Australia and the Oakleigh Cannons joined with gaming operations in the Victorian Premier League. For the 2011/12 season he signed with the New Zealand A- League club Wellington Phoenix. There he came to the end seiners contract in two years only seven missions as a substitute. Soon after the start of the 2011/12 season he fell due to a knee injury for several months and also the preparation for season 2012/13 he could not deny because of knee problems.

In 2006, Downey as a regular player with the Australian U -20 team at the U-19 Asia Cup finals, missed the team by a 1-2 defeat in the quarter- final against South Korea, however, the World Cup qualifiers.
