Jimmy Samuelsson

Jimmy Samuelsson ( born November 7, 1976 in Norrtälje ) is a Swedish wrestler. In 2002 he became world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in lightweight.

Career

Jimmy Samuelsson began as a teenager in 1983 when Sports Club Norrtälje BK with the rings. In 1992 he moved to the sports club Spårvägens BK Stockholm. He concentrated on the Greco- Roman style. After some successes in the junior age in a regional area it was first launched in 1998, the Swedish championship in the seniors Featherweight and then in the Swedish national team wrestler. In 1999, he was trained there by the former top Polish Ringer Ryszard Świerad. From 2001 to 2009 Jimmy Samuelsson struggled for the KSV Germania Aalen, 1 Luckenwalder SC and ASV Mainz in 1888 in the German Bundesliga. He is an independent businessman.

It was first used by the Swedish Wrestling Federation at a international championship, the World Cup in Athens in 1999. He lost there at featherweight against Shawn Lewis from the United States and against Grigori Komuschenko from Ukraine each even on points and therefore finished only 38th and last place in the World Championship. In 2000, it did not succeed to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Sydney.

In 2001, Jimmy Samuelsson made ​​a great leap forward. He finished first at the European Championships in Istanbul in lightweight the 4th place and just narrowly missed a medal. It was the same to him then at the World Championships this year in Patras. After four victories, he lost there against Filiberto Ascuy Aguilera from Cuba and against Rustam Adschi from Ukraine and landed back on the 4th Place.

At the World Championship 2003 in Créteil, he won via Nikolai Gergow from Bulgaria and Endrix Arteaga from Venezuela, but then lost after a hard fight against Vaghinak Galstjan from Armenia ( 3:4 points) and came on the 10th Place. At the European Championships in 2004 in Haparanda, he came only to a victory over the Israeli Alexei Jouchanow. After defeats against Vitaly Shuk, Ukraine and Eduard scratch fell out and landed on the 14th Place. At the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 Jimmy Samuelsson was but once again, just ahead of winning a medal. But he lost there in the decisive battles against Fərid Mansurov and Mchitar Manukjan from Kazakhstan and came back on the 4th Place.

At the 2005 European Championships in Varna, he reached 5th place also once again a respectable result. In two other World Cups and a European Championship in 2006 and 2007 it reached only funded places.
