Jiří Adamíra

Jiří Adamíra ( born April 2, 1926 in Dobrovice; † August 8, 1993 in Prague) was a Czech actor. He was married to actress Hana Maciuchová.

Life

Adamíra starred in several films, television productions and series. However, he had the greatest success in the theaters. In the theater, he began 1945. During the fifties, he first appeared in front of the camera, but then took on roles outside of Prague. Significant here was mainly his work at the State Theatre in Ostrava 1952-1962. After that he played until 1990 Realistické Divadlo (reality Theatre) in Prague. His greatest roles were characters of intellectuals and aristocrats, in which he defends himself against the banality of the Noblesse with satire. He played Richard III. Shakespeare or Pelopa in drama Courtship of Pelop ( Námluvy Pelopovy ) by Jaroslav Vrchlický.

1964 Adamíra played the role in the film Zdeněk Brynych The fifth horseman is fear ( ... a paty jezdec per strach ), which is the story of Hana Bělohradská basis. It involves the dramatic fate of a Jewish doctor in the time of the Protectorate, which he lived through as a nightmare. He played with in television series, including There once was a house ( Byl jednou each dum ) The criminal cases of Major Zeman (30 případů majora Zemana ), Waxworks of Prague ( panopticon města Pražského ).

His artistic career ended at the National Theatre in Prague. Adamíra died on August 8, 1993 in Prague.
