Jiří Lobkowicz

Jiří Lobkowicz January ( born April 23, 1956 in Zurich ) is a Czech politician. He is chairman of the party Cesta změny ( path of change ), which he co-founded in late 2001 in front of the Czech Parliament elections in 2002, and one of the deputy chairmen of the European Democratic Party, which he co-founded, too.

Life

Jiří Lobkowicz Jan is a member of the noble family of Lobkowicz. He was born in Switzerland and lived during the reign of the Communists in Geneva. After the Velvet Revolution, he returned to Czechoslovakia and participated in the Czechoslovak (now Czech ) nationality.

After his return he received the in 1948 by the then communist government of the country confiscated property back by way of restitution. This includes four palaces - including the Castle Melnik - a Prague House, about 400 to 500 acres of arable and pasture land, a wine-growing operation with 135 hectares of vineyards and an additional 2,500 hectares of land formerly owned by his father.

In addition to the management of the assets, he worked as a consultant to various ministries and was or is a supervisory board in several companies. For a time he was deputy chairman of the Party for Freedom Union svobody Unie.

Since October 2011 he has been divorced from his first wife, Bettina, born Egli, who came with him from Switzerland to Czech Republic. His new life partner is the opera singer Zdenka Belas, also artistic director of his festivals IMusicFest of George Lobkowicz. On December 22, 2012 Zdenka Belas has their son Robert Christian Lobkowicz given life.
