Jitex BK

Jitex BK is a women's football club based in Mölndal, a suburb of Gothenburg ( Sweden). The club was founded on 21 January 1971, plays in the 2007 season in the Söderrettan, the second Swedish women's football league. The club name comes from the main sponsor of the club, the Fashion House " Jitex ".

History

The most successful period in the club had the seventies and eighties. Six times, the association of Swedish champion. The cup could Jitex win three times. Ever Jitex BK was the first Swedish Cup winners in women's football. Early 1990s was plagued by financial problems the club. 1993 merged the Jitex with the Women's Division of the local rivals GAIS Gothenburg. Henceforth called the club Jitex BK / JG 93, but were relegated in 1997. Only in 2005 managed to return to the Damallsvenskan, after which the re- direct descent followed.
