Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers

Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers were an English musical project, the end of the 80 with medley of oldies and party hits had great success.

Band History

Jive Bunny arose originally from a music studio in Rotherham, England, out. The Music Factory is a father-son company of John and Andrew Pickles and offers a DJ mix service, the remixes of old and current hits for DJs created. In 1988, she represented a party mix together, which consisted of short fragments of known rock ' n' roll hits, clocked in and connected to the recurring theme of Glenn Miller's In the Mood.

Originally only intended for DJs, the piece soon enjoyed such popularity that the Pickles decided to release it as a single. After they had half a year needed to get the music rights of the pieces used, they gave themselves the name " Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers " (supposedly after the nickname of a friend ) and published in the summer of 1989, the mix entitled " Swing the Mood ". An animated rabbit (English bunny ) was also the hallmark of the corresponding music videos.

The single captured immediately the top of the charts in numerous countries, in England, Germany and Austria was number 1 and number 11 in the U.S. after all

Due to the great success they would kill another oldie mix titled That's What I Like follow, and brought in the same year at Christmas a Christmas song medley called Let's Party out. Both singles also reached number 1 in the UK and thus Jive Bunny achieving the rare performance within a year to lead with the first three singles the UK charts.

As a result, the British tried to keep the interest growing by not only mixed rock oldies, but also tried to swing, salsa or Cancan eg. Nevertheless, the idea had quickly fizzled out and the end of 1991 they had disappeared from the charts. With ten singles and three albums they have sold over 22 million records, however, in the time around the world.

Now and then, John and Andrew Pickles yet. Than Jive Bunny in appearance, but essentially they are limited to their recording and Remix Studio in Rotherham
