JMT Records

JMT ( Jazz Music Today ) was a Munich record label, which consisted in the years 1985 to 1995. It was directed by Stefan Winter, who was able to present a number of established musicians on his label, such as Django Bates, John McLaughlin, Paul Motian and Gary Thomas. Steve Coleman, Greg Osby and Cassandra Wilson started her career as a solo artist at JMT before they later switched to other labels.

In 1995, the label for lack of financial backing of its parent company Polydor had to be closed. Stefan Winter founded, in 1997, Winter & Winter as his successor. Some artists such as Paul Motian and Uri Caine sat on this label continues its work and published therein their next recordings. In the years 2002 to 2005 gradually all publications JMTs were re-released in Winter & Winter in a special JMT Edition.

Others

Stefan Winter brought out on the label own CD entitled The Little Trumpet, it involves a system designed by him work that was mainly played by JMT master musicians.
