Jo Kyung-ran

Jo Kyung Ran (born 1969 in Seoul) is a South Korean author. She is considered one of the most important representatives of contemporary literary production in South Korea.

Life

After graduating from high school she lived until the age of 25 retired from the world at home, before she began a degree in creative writing at Seoul Institute of the Arts and in 1996 with "French optician shop" ( bullanseo angyeongwon ) debuted. In the same year as her first novel, "Time to toast baking" ( sikppang gumneun sigan ) was awarded the first Munhak - Dongnae Prize for New Writers.
