Jo Swerling
Jo Swerling ( born April 18, 1893 in Berdychiv, † October 23, 1964 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter of Russian descent.
Life
Jo Swerling came as a child in the United States. He wrote newspaper articles and short stories before he wrote pieces for the stage. With the introduction of sound films he was offered the opportunity to collaborate on screenplays for highly successful movies. Swerling was comfortable in almost every genre and wrote scripts for comedies as well as Western, adventure films and musicals. From the 50s he worked almost exclusively for television.
