Joachim Ziesche

Joachim Ziesche ( born July 3, 1939 in Dresden ) is a retired German ice hockey player ( striker ) and coach.

Career

He was as a player resistant to the scorers ( Topscorern ) in international tournaments. Ziesche played 197 internationals for East Germany. As a player, he participated in eight World Championships A- and a B - World Cup in 1968 and participated in the Olympic Games in Grenoble. In 1966 he won with the GDR later awarded the Bronze Medal Hockey Championship.

After his playing career, he served as coach from 1970 to 1989 the SC Dynamo Berlin and won with his team's 15 championships. He was also 1970 to 1976 (along with Klaus Hirche ) and 1980 to 1990 (along with Hartmut nickel) head coach of the East German national team. More coach stations were 1992/93, the SC Riessersee and 1994 /95, the polar bear Berlin.

Honors

In June 1970, the honorary title of Honored Master of Sports was awarded Ziesche Joachim in Berlin. Since 2004 his jersey number hanging under the roof of corrugated iron palace in Berlin. For his achievements in the sport in 1990 he was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame and Germany in 1999 with the entry into the IIHF Hall of Fame.

His son Steffen Ziesche is also a former hockey player ( striker ).
