Joan Bennett Kennedy

Joan Bennett Kennedy ( born September 2, 1936 in Riverdale, New York (State); born Virginia Joan Bennett ) from 1958 to 1982 wife of Senator Edward Kennedy.

In high school, she met her future in-laws Jean Ann Kennedy Smith and Ethel Skakel Kennedy know and became friends with them.

On November 30, 1958 she married Edward Kennedy, the youngest son of the Kennedy family. However, his constant infidelity drove her to alcoholism. When he took 1980 presidential election, the couple were in agreement, later Kennedy withdrew his candidacy but back again. In 1982, Edward and Joan were divorced.

Then Joan worked as a musician and took care of her four grandchildren. She was also active for the disabled and people with cancer (her son Edward lost a leg to cancer, her daughter fell ill from lung cancer in 2003 ).
