Joan Plaza

Joan Plaza i Durán ( born December 26, 1963 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish basketball coach. Since 2013 he is with Unicaja Málaga under contract.

Career

Joan Plaza began his career as a coach in which was founded by him and his brother basketball school EB Bethsaida. Parallel to this, he worked for the women's team of EB Santisima Trinitat and the small club CB Sant Adrià. In 1995, he finally joined as a junior coach to Joventut de Badalona, ​​where he remained in both the youth as well as assistant coach of the first team until 2004. He celebrated his biggest success in the 2000 /01 season when he won the Spanish U20 Championship. In the summer of 2004, Joan joined Plaza, at the request of the new coach Bozidar Maljković to Real Madrid. As the Serb was finally in 2006, after a disappointing season, dismissed, Joan Plaza took over for the first time the office of the head coach.
