Joan Van Ark
Joan Van Ark ( born June 16, 1943 in New York City, New York ) is an American actress. Van Ark is mainly occupied as a character actress and was known by the series Knots Landing.
Life
The daughter of a writer -married couple whose family immigrated from Holland to the United States, began her career as an actress in the theater. For her role in Molière's The School for Wives, she won a Tony Award. In 1978 she moved from theater to television and took over the lead role of Valene " Val " Clements Ewing in the series Knots Landing, an offshoot of the successful soap opera Dallas, where she already played the same role. In addition to several feature films, she appeared in several episodes of the series Quincy and The Love Boat. Joan Van Ark is married since 1966 and has one daughter.
Joan Van Ark had several guest roles in the television series The Nanny, Cybill, Touched by an Angel and My Name is Earl.
