Joanna Shimkus
Joanna Shimkus ( born October 30, 1943 in Halifax ) is a Canadian actress.
Life
The daughter of a Lithuanian and an Irishwoman was born in Halifax. She went to a convent school in Montreal and with 19 years in Paris, where she worked as a model. In 1964 she made her film debut in De l' amour by Jean Aurel and then played lead roles in films by Robert Enrico ( Ho, Aunt Zita and Adventurers ). In 1968, she starred opposite Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in Joseph Losey's surf.
A crisis of Universal Studios led to the cancellation of a non-exclusive contract.
