Joanna Szczepkowska

Joanna Szczepkowska ( born May 1, 1953 in Warsaw) is a Polish actress and author.

Joanna Szczepkowska is the daughter of actor Andrzej Szczepkowski and granddaughter of the writer in January Parandowski. Her acting training she received in the early 1970s at the PWST Warsaw. While studying, she made her debut in a televised theater performance of Chekhov's Three Sisters, directed by Aleksander Bardini. At her side also gave this idea its debut in the lead roles, the actresses Ewa Krystyna Janda and Ziętek, both took off with her in 1975 at the PWST their final exam.

After graduating in 1975, she received her first engagement at the Teatr Współczesny in Warsaw. In 1976, she made ​​her film debut in Con Amore by Jan Batory, for which she won the Golden Camera of the film magazine movie for best debut. In 1981 she moved from Teatr Teatr Polski in Warsaw Współczesny to where they belonged to the ensemble until 1988. From 1988 to 1992 and since 2000 she has been a member of the Common Theatre in Warsaw.

In the late 1990s she began also a writing career. She published a book of poems, wrote a monodrama and is in the Saturday supplement Vysokie Obcasy Gazeta Wyborcza columnist since 1999. The columns appeared in Poland in several anthologies. In 2003, a first collection of short stories by Joanna Szczepkowska.

Joanna Szczepkowska was married to actor Mirosław Konarowski. From this marriage she is a mother of two daughters. On 3 May 2007, she was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta ( Knight's Cross ).
