Joanna, wife of Chuza

Johanna († in the first century in Palestine) was the wife of Chusa, one of Herod Antipas officials. She is worshiped in the Roman Catholic Church, their feast is on 24 May. For this day she is in the new Roman Martyrology 2001 second called. Also in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod her is thought there on August 3.

According to biblical tradition, Jesus had cured of a disease, after which she accompanied him with other women in his preaching tours. In the Bible it is called in two places by name, in Luke 8, 3 and in 24,10. Once it is said that Johanna was one of those women who served Jesus and his disciples with their assets. Elsewhere, it is mentioned that it was one of the women who visited the grave of Jesus on Easter morning. In the Roman Martyrology (2001) it is said that she told the disciples about the resurrection of Christ.
