Joanne Goode

Joanne " Jo " Goode, MBE, ( born November 17, 1972 in Harlow, born Joanne Wright ) is a former English badminton player. It is not to be confused with five years later -born Joanne Nicholas, who is also a born Joanne Wright.

Career

1996 Joanne Goode won their first medal on the international stage with silver in mixed doubles tournament of the European Championships in Herning, Denmark. In 1998 she won with her partner Simon Archer Mixed gold at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. She also won this year also the doubles tournament of the women at the same event. At the European Championships in the same year, which were organized in Sofia, she won in mixed doubles and women's doubles bronze medals. 1999 Joanne Goode Vice -Mixed World Champion at the Badminton World Championships in Copenhagen. Goode took part in Sydney at the Olympic Summer Games 2000. She went with Simon Archer part in the mixed doubles and won the bronze medal. She also took part in the double Donna Kellogg Competition of women. Both lost in the quarterfinals against Gao Ling and Qin Yiyuan. This year she also won the European title in women's doubles. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games she could defend the mixed trophy and won bronze in the women's doubles.
