Joanne Harris

Joanne Michèle Sylvie Harris MBE ( born July 3, 1964 in Barnsley, Yorkshire ) is a British writer. She became famous for her novel Chocolat, with Juliette Binoche and the Johnny Depp titled Chocolat in 2000 - was filmed Just one small bite.

Life

Joanne Harris was born in Barnsley, the daughter of a French mother and an English father. She attended Wakefield Girls High School in Wakefield and Barnsley Sixth Form College. Subsequently, she studied modern and medieval languages ​​at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge. After graduating she worked for twelve years as a French teacher at a secondary school in Leeds. Then she led a course on French literature at the University of Sheffield.

In June 2013, it was honored by Queen Elizabeth II for their literary merit with the MBE.
