Joanne Harris
Joanne Michèle Sylvie Harris MBE ( born July 3, 1964 in Barnsley, Yorkshire ) is a British writer. She became famous for her novel Chocolat, with Juliette Binoche and the Johnny Depp titled Chocolat in 2000 - was filmed Just one small bite.
Life
Joanne Harris was born in Barnsley, the daughter of a French mother and an English father. She attended Wakefield Girls High School in Wakefield and Barnsley Sixth Form College. Subsequently, she studied modern and medieval languages at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge. After graduating she worked for twelve years as a French teacher at a secondary school in Leeds. Then she led a course on French literature at the University of Sheffield.
In June 2013, it was honored by Queen Elizabeth II for their literary merit with the MBE.
