João Amazonas

João Amazonas de Souza Pedroso ( born January 1, 1912 in Belém, † 27 May 2002, São Paulo) was a Brazilian Marxist theoretician and politician of the Partido Comunista do Brasil ( PCdoB ), as well as guerrilla fighters of the guerrilla of Araguaia.

Life

João Amazonas was born on January 1, 1912 in Belém, the capital of the village in northern Brazil state of Pará. At the age of 23 years, Amazon joined the Aliança Nacional Libertadora ( ANL), one of the Partido Comunista do Brasil (then still under the symbol "PCB" occurring ) supported, but zusammgesetzten across party and ideological boundaries, alliance against the spread fascist tendencies within Brazil, to. At that time, Brazil was ruled by an authoritarian dictator Getúlio Vargas Dornelles. In the next few years was a member of both the Amazon União da Juventude Comunista and the PCB, which in 1943 elected him the first time in its Central Committee. Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union ( CPSU ), as well as the consequences of de-Stalinization, even within the Communist parties outside the Soviet Union, and in particular the PCB. At the same time Amazon was from 1968 to 1972 a member of the guerrilla of Araguaia and fought within these guerrilla against the then ruling in Brazil military dictatorship.
