Joaquín Botero

Joaquín Botero Vaca ( born December 10, 1977 in La Paz, Bolivia ) is a Bolivian footballer.

Career

Joaquín Botero was in the 2002 season in world football, the player with the highest goal tally, namely 49 goals for his club Club Bolívar. After 133 matches for Club Bolívar, the second highest number of hits of all time in this club, he left his club and moved abroad.

Botero's first foreign club was the Mexican club Club Universidad Nacional ( " Puma " ), with whom he was in the 2004 Mexican champion twice ( 2004 Clausura and Apertura 2004). In 2006 he moved to Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro of the Primera División in Argentina, and in 2007 to Deportivo Tachira, Venezuela. In 2008, he returned to his native Bolivian club Bolivar. In 2009, he moved abroad again, and indeed to the UAT Correcaminos to Mexico.

National

Botero plays regularly since 1999 in the Bolivian national football team, and is doing the eternal scorer with 20 goals.

On 1 April 2009 Botero scored a hat trick for the Bolivian national team in a sensational 6-1 win over Argentina in a FIFA qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup, Argentina's first defeat under coach Diego Maradona.
