Jobus Fincelius

Jobus Fincelius, also Job Fincel (* Weimar; † after 1568 in Zwickau ) was a German humanist and physician.

He studied in Erfurt, Jena and Wittenberg. In 1559 he became professor of philosophy in Jena, in 1562 professor and assistant professor at the medical faculty ibid. He worked as Physikus in Weimar and in Zwickau 1568th Fincelius published in 1556 as an early source of the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
