Jocelyne Villeton

Jocelyne Villeton ( born September 17, 1954 in Vals- les- Bains, Ardèche ) is a French long-distance runner.

Life

Villeton only began in the early 1980s with leistungssportlichem training. In 1983, she remained in second place of the Lyon Marathon with 2:50:09 for the first time under three hours. It continuously increased, and three years later she missed as second in the Paris Marathon with 2:32:22 just the French record. In a marathon of the European Athletics Championships 1986 in Stuttgart, she was soon thereafter Fifth and the New York City Marathon the same year fourth.

At the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome she won bronze behind Rosa Mota ( POR) and soy Ivanova (URS ) in 2:32:53. Also, she was third. This year in New York with her personal best of 2:32:03

Also on other routes it is successful. Three times she was national champion in the 10,000 -meter run (1984, 1986 and 1987 ) and twice in the 25 - km road race (1984 and 1991). They also presented twice in 1986 on a French record over 10,000 m.

Jocelyne Villeton is married, has two children ( born 1979 and 1981 ) and lives in Saint- Étienne. She continues to participate to the ultra marathon field in the senior field in competitions organized by 5 km. In 2004, she won her age group at the Dublin Marathon and 2005 the Rome Marathon. It is also involved as President of Femmes en pour la Course Parité for the equality of women in the sport of running. In 2002 she was honored with the Ordre national du Mérite.
