Jochen Bohl

Jochen Bohl ( born April 19, 1950 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian and since 2004 Bishop of the Evangelical - Lutheran Church of Saxony. Bohl since October 2009 Member of the Council of the EKD, he was elected Deputy EKD Council ends on November 9, 2010.

Life and work

After studying theology at the Evangelical Church University of Wuppertal and the Universities of Marburg and Bochum 1968-1974 Bohl passed his examinations at the Evangelical Church of Westphalia in Bielefeld. From 1974 to 1976 he graduated from the Vicariate in Brüninghausen at Lüdenscheid and was ordained in 1977. From 1978 to 1986 he worked as a parish priest in Aplerbeck in the church district Dortmund -Süd, before he left as head of the Evangelical Youth Office of the Saarland in Saarbrücken. There he was in 1993 also Deputy Country Representative of the Saarland countryside.
