Joe Bennett (footballer)

Joseph "Joe" Bennett (born 28 March 1990 in Rochdale ) is an English football player and currently plays for English club Aston Villa. Bennett signed his first professional contract with Middlesbrough FC in the 2008 /09 season. He can play every position on the left side, but mostly it is used as a left-back. For England Bennett played for the U-19, now he has completed three games for the U -21 England.

Clubs

Bennett was born in Rochdale, but he lived in the North East of England since the age of ten. Scouts of Middlesbrough FC discovered him when he played for FC Northallerton Town. However, Bennett was thrown out of the U- 15 team of Middlesbrough FC and then tried at Newcastle United to get a contract. He failed, but a year later the Middlesbrough FC took him on again.

After good performances for the reserve team Bennett was equipped in the 2008/09 season with a two-year contract for the first team. In preparation he was able to evolve and has been nominated several times for games in the Premier League. In the last game of the season 2008/ 09 he made his debut away against West Ham United and then a new three-year contract he was given.

When he was an integral part of the first team now he was in season 2009/10 more inserts and could even ran the game against Coventry City from the beginning. When Gordon Strachan 's new coach was, Bennett wanted to borrow, but the club did not let him go. In Strachan, Tony Mowbray followed as the new coach of Middlesbrough. Therefore, Bennett drew new hope, because it had a regular player and signed in January 2011 a new four and a half year contract with Middlesbrough FC.
