Life

Celko was a member of the ANSI X3H2 Database Standards Committee and helped to design the SQL -89 and SQL -92 standards. He is the author of six books and over 700 articles on SQL and other database topics.

He is credited to have coined the term lasagna code.

It also describes the first nested sets. This is a technique, such as tree structures in databases can be stored so that subtrees or the path to the root with linear effort instead can be determined by recursion.
