Joe FitzPatrick

Joe FitzPatrick ( born April 1, 1967 in Dundee) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP).

Life

FitzPatrick visited the Whitfield High School in Dundee. Then he studied Forestry at Inverness College and moved to the University of Abertay Dundee and the University. During his studies he became involved in the National Union of Students Scotland.

Political career

In the SNP FitzPatrick was initially for the MPs Shona Robison and her husband, the House of Representatives Stewart Hosie active. He was elected to the city council of Dundee and confirmed in 2003 1999. In the general election of 2005, FitzPatrick applied for the direct mandate of the constituency of West Dundee, but was defeated by Labour candidate Jim McGovern. For the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007 FitzPatrick joined the succession of Irene McGugan in the constituency of West Dundee. He won the direct mandate and moved for the first time in the Scottish Parliament. As part of the constituency reform of 2011, the Dundee West constituency was abolished and largely replaced by the newly created constituency of Dundee City West, took the FitzPatrick in the parliamentary elections of 2011. Again he won the direct mandate.
