Joe Fulks

Joseph Franklin Fulks ( born October 26, 1921 in Birmingham, Kentucky, † March 21, 1976 in Eddyville, Kentucky ), called " Jumpin ' Joe", was an American professional basketball player. Between 1946 and 1954 he played in the U.S. professional league NBA team for the Philadelphia Warriors. Fulks was 1.95 m tall and played the position of forward.

Joe Fulks was the first outstanding scorer of the fledgling NBA. He originally used the old two-handed item roll, and then change to the new one-handed throw. On February 10, 1949 Fulks scored 63 points in a game, an NBA record, which was only surpassed in 1959 by Elgin Baylor. With the Warriors Fulks 1947 first NBA champion. Fulks finished his career with over 8,000 points scored. On 1 May 1978 it was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
