Joe Hunt

Joseph "Joe" Raphael Hunt ( born February 17, 1919 in San Francisco, California, † February 2nd, 1945 via Florida) was an American tennis player.

Career

He won the 1943 U.S. Championships (now the U.S. Open ) in Forest Hills. More victories in tennis prevented its use in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The crash of his plane over Florida, he came in early 1945 killed.

In 1966 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
