Joe Johnson (basketball)

Joe Marcus Johnson ( born June 29, 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas ) is a basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets in the American professional basketball league NBA.

Career

After two seasons at the University of Arkansas Draft was elected in 2001 to tenth place of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Joe Johnson. For the Razorbacks, the basketball team of the University of Arkansas, Johnson led his team in points section at ( 16.0 points per game ) and rebound average ( 5.7 rebounds per game).

After Johnson was a rookie in 33 of the first 38 games of the Boston Celtics in the starting lineup, he moved in the middle of the season to the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix was with Johnson, who took 13.25 points per game in his two seasons with the Suns, one of the top teams in the Western Conference. After his first season as a professional Johnson All- Rookie Second Team was nominated for his performance in the NBA.

After he had been injured in the season 2004/ 05 at a dunking by a fall the face, he had to wear a face mask in the playoffs. The Suns lost to the eventual champion, the San Antonio Spurs, in five games ( 1:4).

In the summer of 2005, Johnson came for Boris Diaw and two future draft picks to Atlanta for the Hawks.

In his first season with the Atlanta Hawks Johnson led the team compared in several categories: points ( 20.2 per game), assists (6.5 per game), steals (1.26 per game), scored three (128) and minutes played ( 40.7 per game).

He was one of five NBA players who scored in the 2005/06 season on 20 points and 6 assists on average.

With Joe Johnson, the Hawks Atlankta 2008 managed for the first time a place in the playoffs. There, the team met with the Boston Celtics, but where they were beaten 3-4 after games.

In the 2008/2009 season he reached the playoffs with the Hawks in fourth place. In the first round they won 4-3 against the Miami Heat. In Round 2, but could not prevail against the Cleveland Cavaliers and lost 0-4.

Johnson was transferred in the summer of 2012 for five players and a draft pick to the Brooklyn Nets.
